Hi, All--
I'm more energized today and wanted to write and say thanks again. What a wonderful mix of encouraging notes, humour, shared experiences. It really helped me to know that other people had gone through the same types of things.
I did a cut and paste on the encouraging messages, put them in a document so I can print it out and have it all on one page. I can reread the messages and be smilin' and stylin' on my way to an interview...if I ever get one...
I think all the prayers helped because the experience and interview played out like a movie where the plot was "show Shar what a chaotic, stressful place this is." And I got to see it, from the interruptions, and delays, to staff cursing about the idiot on the phone, to the frozen computer I was supposed to do my exercise on and nobody around to fix it. (Yes, I froze it up and I don't know how. Just tried to print and got a low memory msg. and it froze and I couldn't work anymore)
Even before the interview it was strange. I went to the bathroom to put on lipstick so I wouldn't look so scary, and there was someone really getting sick. Then as I was wrestling with my hair, she came out and sat on the couch and really looked like she was going to faint. So, I asked her was there a coworker I could call, and she couldn't really talk, just shook her head and mumbled. So, I told her to stay, and I would have somebody look in on her. Then I left and tried to find out if they had designated "first aid" type staff, and asked two staff people to have someone check on her. I hope she was ok; I stopped by the bathroom on my way out and she was gone.
The interviewer called today and left a message saying that she understood my decision, and thought I would be a valuable employee, and nice things. So, no burned bridges (a good thing).
Anyway, all around it was good. I did not think I would be so anxious, and it is good to know I may be next time so I can prep better. Also, I will start earlier trying to find something to wear that doesn't make me look like a house.
Noa, I hope your interview results in a wonderful job for you!
Thanks, all.
xoxo
