Jacquie - I have been taking Wellbutrin for a second time since August, 1999 (I think - I'd have to ask my pharmacist). The first time I took it for about 9 months, but I did relapse within 2 years.I really have had no side effects except for the initial tremor and edginess. Also, I had a brief period in the first month where I would become extremely irritated at minor inconveniences, but that passed in about 2 weeks. If I take it after 4:00pm, I find that I do have trouble falling asleep. If I forget to take it before 4:00pm, I usually forgo the dose (unless it is a weekend and the garage needs cleaning.
One other side effect that I had was that I quit smoking without even trying. I did not smoke that much (pack of 25 in 3 or 4 days), but even now when I go to the bar with my father-inlaw and everyone is smoking, I do not have an erge to light up (or bum a smoke).
I have personally been involved in 2 cases where a patient at the clinic experienced a seizure while taking Wellbutrin, so it does happen.
This has been my experience. - Cam
