Greg,
If you're headed to the Arches or Canyonlands it might provide some peace of mind to know that there is superb medical care just across the border in Grand Junction, CO - the biggest medical center between Denver and Salt Lake City.
Actually I'm a tad envious, as S. Utah is one of my favorite places.
