> Judith, You should go to your dentist and have your "bite" checked out. All the symptoms you describe can be caused by grinding or clenching your teeth in your sleep. It might be that all you need is a "night guard"(it's kind of like a retainer, but fits over the top of the teeth so the upper and lower can't touch). I just got a new one, because I've always had this problem, and my insurance paid for most of it.
> What happens, is that the grinding and clenching throw off your bite, and put a lot of stress on your jaw muscles. The stress on the jaw will affect your neck, which will affect your back, and then your arm/arms. It's amazing that something as seemingly minor as your jaw muscles, can affect so much of your body! So, before you give up on a medication that helps you, definitely check out whether a night guard could be all you need. Good luck! CarolAnnThank you so very much for your reply,CarolAnn. I do wear a mouth guard and have for years and years...just had it checked by the periodontist recently....and I have been having to wear it day and night for these aching jaws. By discovering this wonderful website,I have read that others on Celexa have experienced jaw clenching;but the Adderall which I definitely need seems to set the muscular tension off all the more. The doctor told me to stop the Adderall;however,I can't function without the bit of energy it gives to me.
Guess this means that I must make another 1,000th med change this coming week!!!....my poor, tired, weary 56 year old bones and mind and heart really, really dread doing this!!!!
Again,I thank you. JudithC
