I guess such a decision makes more sense when a history of treatment failures is taken into consideration. It can be a matter of life or death. I am still not aware of all of the legal considerations in doing this. I have found a great deal of contradictory information on this topic.
As I said in my previous post, my doctor was in favor of adding Nardil to reboxetine, had I not experienced a severe reaction to it.

I don't believe this statement can be regarded as being true.

I have been on a combination of Parnate + desipramine + Dexedrine + Synthroid.
I have also been on combinations of Nardil + (desipramine or imipramine).
I believe that these combinations have been used by others, although perhaps infrequently. My doctor did want me to hang out in his office for a while after I took my first dose of Dexedrine so as to monitor blood pressure. I don't know what other precautions can be taken, but I am aware of other doctors who prefer to monitor for an initial reaction to this sort of thing in the hospital. I think I came across some information regarding such combinations on this site and at Dr. Ivan Goldberg's Depression Central psychiatric website.

I have seen "stranger" combinations than these posted here. "Under the influence" of AndrewB, JohnL, and others, I am beginning to contemplate stranger combinations still.

This is one hell of an image. Yuck! I was not aware of this interaction until Elizabeth mentioned it in one of her posts. Thanks for the potent reinforcement, kazoo.
