I went from 40mgs down to 20mgs because I had no interest in anything, gained lots of weight, low self esteem and may as well have been agoraphobic because I don't want to do anything. I have managed to lose weight on the 20mgs with dieting but I still feel depressed, no interest in anything. I think I would rather cut out the Prozac, and be a happy recluse. Any ideas or personal experience with Prozac making someone feel depressed. I never felt depressed before the Prozac.

Hi Candace, I became very apathetic , depressed and gained weight on 20 mg a day of Prozac. The weight gradually came off after I stopped taking it.

I am taking Effexor XR now and it helps without the apathy problems. I know it is approved for generalized anxiety now (I think). And I know several people who are using it successfully for panic disorder and agoraphobia. Maybe you could think about switching to that. Best wishes A.
