Ritalin and Adderall are good augmentors. My pdoc has used them a lot for decades. He says they enhance any antidepressant. Ritalin I think has more of a mood effect, but its roller coaster ups and downs are very bothersome with me, triggering some abusive tendencies. I find it to be a lot like cocaine. Pleasant, yet sending one down a nightmare road. Adderall doesn't have quite a mood effect with me, but I find it great for motivation and energy without the abuse potential of Ritalin. In comes on slow and smooth and wears off the same way. Ritalin in contrast comes on like a freight train and then drops you off a cliff three hours later. Then the next dose doesn't seem quite as good, so I have to double it, and round and round we go down slippery slope of abuse.
