Lynne,
I take 7.5 mg/day of Zyprexa and did experience the enormous weight gain. (approx 60 lbs.) I am currently on a low carb diet with daily excersize, at least 2 miles/day walking and weight training every other day. Since I started this I have been able to lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks. It can be done if you keep on top of it.
I also take Adderal now to help with my apathy and anhedonia. As a stimulant I am sure that it also helps with the weight loss.
Finally,
Pfizer has a new med in the pipeline which may be available this year. It is called Zeldox and is supposed to be like Zyprexa but without the negative side effects including weight gain. Ask your doctor to keep his eye out for its release. I know my doctor has already told me that we will try it as soon as it is available.
Hope this helps a little,
Chris
