There's a withdrawal syndrome that is definitely horrible (qualitatively different from depression, for me anyway), but not permanent.
> Is the help of other meds after never as effective as those meds had been prior to taking an MAOI?
Antidepressants didn't seem to help with the withdrawal syndrome after Nardil pooped out. Xanax and Klonopin did help some.
MAOIs, including Nardil, worked again after I went for a couple months without taking them.
> (2) Are there lifetime MAOI success stories? I hear a bit about the "pooping out" but not any "I've been on it for my entire life with success and now I am a ripe old age of ... how old are you Noa? :)"
Hmm. Well, my pdoc once mentioned that except for me, all his patients who are on Parnate have been on it for many years. I take this as a good sign.
BTW, nice to meet you. :-)
