I have searched Medline and the Cochrane Library, trying various spellings. My bet is that it is a drug related to buspirone, but I don't know for sure. It is supposed to be available for emergency release by the Canadian government, but when I called, all I got was the equivalent of a blank stare over the phone. Can anyone think of which drug this doc means. Thanks guys - Cam W.

Thanks! On second thought, I don't see how Neurontin could be a restricted substance (altho I don't know anything about the Canadian system). Maybe it was GHB (gamma hydroxybutyric acid), a stimulant which can cause poisoning. It's also been used in AWS (see Addolorato, G et al. Alcohol Clin Exp Res. 1999 Oct; 23(10): 1596-604. UI: 20016183.)
