In reply to Broke tailbone and depression is back big time!!!!, posted by Donut on January 19, 2000, at 15:26:11
> I fell and fractured my coccyx last week and the pain is constant and I find myself crying all the time because of the pain. I am seeing a chiropracter and it is helping, but I am so afraid that the depression about this is getting out of control. I take Celexa 30mg and Buspar 45mg. My dr has wanted me to stop xanax and I had but I find I need it now to cope. My job requires a lot of sitting and I feel guilty if I go on disability but I just don't know what to do. Any support would be helpful. And, I guess my nickname here is very appropriate because the only relief I get from the pain is sitting on a donut shaped pad!
Donut - My thoughts are with you. I was flat on my back last fall with a torn ACL/cartilage problem in my knee, & know that an injury can be depressing in & of itself. My husband also hurt his back on the job last year, & was on Worker's Comp. for 3 mos. He's been there regarding the guilt, but is back at work now & things are fine. Just do what you have to do to take care of yourself, & don't worry about work right now.
Best wishes & hope you'll feel better soon!
