In reply to Neurontin and AD's???, posted by Nancy on January 1, 2000, at 20:10:16
> Hey nancy, I would definitely give neurontin a go for social phobia. I took a lot of different meds(and drugs) to combat depression and s.p. Finally, I got a great doc who put me on 150 Zoloft, 1200 Neurontin and 30 Buspar. This combo has worked great for me. The neur. has a soothing effect on the nervous system. I dont get overly excited and anxious in certain situations that bothered me before. I'm not perfect, but I feel a lot better. According to my psydoc it's an extremely safe and well tolerated drug. It's just starting to get some attention for anxiety disorders like ours. I take 600mg(2pills)when I wake up and 2 more about 6-8 hours later. You may experience some bowel problems. They can be eased with Citrucel. Anyways, I'd suggest it with zoloft or maybe paxil because that has worked for me. I've never tried Remeron and I've heard it's sedating. The ssris are sometimes beneficial for social phobia. It is for mine. good luck, bones

> So now I am taking Remeron (15mgs.) and Prozac (10mgs.) and I still feel that I am quite anxious, and slightly less depressed, but not as much as I would like to be. I was wondering if I should fill my prescription for the neurontin and give that a try, but I was wondering if I can take it with these other meds? I have also heard that it can be sedating, would that add to the sedating effects of the Remeron? (I do not feel that I could be much more sedated!) Do any of you chemistry people out there know if this would work? Thanks ahead of time and Happy New Year!
