Nancy, I take Neurontin 900mgs with Parnate. I was on 3200mgs of Neurontin first for mood stabilization but it didn't do enough to help the depression so my pdoc lowered the dosage and added the Parnate. I don't think there would be any negative chemical interaction with your combo, but since Neurontin tends to be calming, it might be overkill with the sedative qualities of the Remeron. If you are not experiencing much sedation from Remeron, I say check with your Pdoc and give the Neurontin a try. The blurry vision you might experience in the beginning, go away after a few days.

> Ok, I have another question. I have recently been reading up on social phobia and anxiety, and many of other people's symptoms and experiences sound exactly like mine. I am starting to think that along with my depression that I might have social phobia as well (argghh!) So as we are all in search of the "perfect" cocktail, I am wondering about the drug neurontin. One of my pdocs (I have one at school and one at home) prescribed me to neurontin to take along with my prozac, which I was taking by itself because he told me that I had anxiety and depression. I never got that prescription filled and came home for the holidays and went to my other pdoc, who said that it was straight depression and gave me remeron.

I was wondering if I should fill my prescription for the neurontin and give that a try, but I was wondering if I can take it with these other meds? I have also heard that it can be sedating, would that add to the sedating effects of the Remeron? (I do not feel that I could be much more sedated!) Do any of you chemistry people out there know if this would work? Thanks ahead of time and Happy New Year!
