Is it just me, or does it seem somehow LESS acceptable than it was in 2000 to be on meds? For awhile, there was a major backlash against the use of psychotropic medications and the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture them. That seems to have abated somewhat. More recently, I see an increase in the stigma of having a mental illness. Mental illness and its treatment has once again become the butt of jokes. It is popular to use the term "bipolar" to dismiss people as being incompetent and unreliable. They are to be treated delicately, or else they might be triggered to commit mass murders.
This is frightening.
