Hi Michael,
I switched from Nardil to Marplan this past July, and I'm sorry that I don't have better news to report.
For me, Marplan caused the same (or worse) side effects as Nardil with nowhere near the benefits. Sexual dysfunction was 100% at 40 mg/day (as was everything else below the waist - difficulty/inability to urinate and terrible constipation). At 40 mg, I wasn't seeing enough relief from depression/anxiety so I increased the dosage to 60 mg/day and immediately developed such severe nocturnal myoclonus that it scared the heck out of me. I dropped back down to 40 mg/day and then weaned off Marplan altogether knowing I couldn't push it to a higher dose where it might have been more effective.
In my opinion, Nardil is stil the "gold standard" IF you can live with the side effects.
