Anyone switching from Nardil to Marplan?

Hi,

Any experience out there in switching from Phenelzine (the "gold standard" for treating social phobia and panic). Particularly interested in (1) efficacy vs. 60 mg/day phenelzine and (2) side effect profile (especially with regards to sexual dysfunction and weight gain). My experience has been Nardil (phenelzine) is extremely effective, but the side effects were almost as bad as the symptoms of social phobia. Weight gain was 15 lbs plus on Nardil. Sexual dysfunction was almost 100% (both erectile dysfunction, lack of desire, and anorgasmia).

Hopefully, Marplan, as a Hydrazine MAOI will have the same beneficial impact as Phenelzine (the only other hydrazine non-reversible MAOI available in the U.S.), but without these side effects.
