I am 45, menopausal (intact uterus) and on estrogen. I had been
on Effexor 225 mg/day until recently with great progress (no sexual
s/d's, etc) until I started bleeding - weeks at a time! The only
way to stay on the Effexor was to stop the Premarin, but then I had
problems with extreme vaginal dryness and other niceties.
I am now taking Prozac (no problems with bleeding
but boy, am I "dead" down there!) and plan on
trying something else next visit. I did read/heard
somewhere that Effexor promoted conversion to estrogen/progesterone
in the body (?). Perhaps a reader who understands
biochemistry/physiology could explain better.
Good Luck!
