Bertha, etc. , I don't remember being anything but releived when I stopped taking Effexor as it was "killing" me. I couldn't write or talk, yet I was somehow content to just exist. After trying other ADs I gave up and went 6 months on klonopin alone, and, finally decided I'd had enough and asked my doc for something for depression. We went back to square one....Prozac, the only SSRI I can tolerate, at get this Bertha, 10 mg every other day. It helps. The edge is gone, I'm okay, and no side effects. I do well on very tiny doses of ADs. "Therapuetic levels" make me "psychotic." Do you really want to trade horror stories? E-mail me. Hope you're transitioning well, Shelley
