I have seen some horror stories associated with getting off effexor. If you do a search on effexor in the internet, you will see them also.
I have been taking 75mg of effexor for about 2 years. It has been very helpful for me up until recently. I am thinking that I have hit the 'poop out' stage that you are suggesting. I wrote to Dr. Bob and asked him whether he would recormmend going up 25 mgs a day (holding that for about 5 days) and seeing when the increase might help. I recently saw an author ('Prozac') on tv, who said that she hit the 'poop out' stage using Prozac several times and had to increase. I'm not crazy about the idea of increasing effexor or anything for that matter, but don't feel that I have any choice.
Have you heard about or experience the 'poop out' stage with effexor before or is this the first time. Why are you getting off?

One thing 'side effect' that I have noticed is that I am not as sensitive as I used to be, less compassionate, etc. While this is good for a people pleaser like myself, I also feel badly that I have lost some of my emotion and
compassion for others. Did you have any such experience?
