> My wife has bipolar disorder. As you can imagine, it has caused quite a strain on our household and I was wondering if you could suggest a site on the net where one might interact with others as an alternative to therapy. I don't mean to completely eliminate therapy but as my finances do not permit me to afford as much therapy as I,perhaps, should be providing for my wife and child as well as self, I am interested in talking with others with similar circumstances.

Tim,
There is a great support group of people who have bipolar significant others called bpso. It is all done thru E-mail and is full of helpful hints, others experiences and lots of info. Most of us on the list find it very beneficial. To apply, go to the website www.bpso.org and look for BPSO Mailing List. You cannot have bipolar disorder and be on the list, you have to love someone who has it.It is a great place when you need to talk to someone who understands and has been there. Penny
