Why do you want trazodone if on zyprexa and seroquel? I don't think it will replace those 2. I tried to use remeron to replace zyprexa once it was not plesant.

Just if i can't fall asleep at night.

Then i wouldn't need AS much antipsychotics.

Why antipsychotic if the only problem is not falling asleep?

Trazodone might help sleep when added to a non-sedating antipsychotic such as amisulpride. The dosage for this purpose is normally fairly low eg. 50mg initially. Trazodone does not cause much in the way of weight gain. It may cause some dizziness and drowsiness in the morning (but probably not if you're used to Seroquel!). Trazodone can also cause nausea and headache. Major side effects such as priapism are very rare. Most side effects are more of an irritation. Like all antidepressants, caution is needed in those who have a history of mania.

It sounds pretty good to me.

I have experience with trazodone for sleep and it works.

Neurontin felt better but nevertheless.

I will ask my doctor. He is in love with APs but anyway.

I'm just saying it didn't work for me.

I'd be hesitant to take a sedative on top of that much seroquel+zyprexa. Have you ever used an anticonvulsant to help your problems? I mean, they don't work for everybody, but they can help agitation, (hypo)mania, anxiety, sometimes a bit with psychosis (in some people more than in others...). That or a long term benzo....to maybe reduce your neuroleptic dosage and keep it lower.

I have thought about it. I am wary of the weight gain though.

Which one is the best with weight gain?

I dont have hypomania though!

I take both Trileptal (1200) and Lamictal (100). Both are weight neutral. Depakote is more commonly used, and that can both cause weight gain and mess with blood levels of other meds.

And you think it can act as a sleep med?

Idk. Trazodone is kinda weird. It puts you to sleep but it doesnt feel very good like lorazepam, neurontin or lyrica would.

How does Trileptal feel? Soothing?

Never felt a thing on the low 150mg of trileptal I took for a while but was also taking benzos. Phillipa

That's a very low dose though Phillipa!

I wasn't thinking about it as a sleep med, just to maybe at least stabilizer, maybe reduce your AP dosage. I saw your doses, and I was...taken aback.

Anyway, I wouldn't take trazadone w/ seroquel and zyprexa. That scares me, personally. Can you get something like Restoril or something like that?

Hmm.

Whats so bad about it? 100mg Seroquel above max and half of the max dose of Zyprexa (15mg).

Im hopefully switching to amisulprid instead of Zyprexa.
