The dosage for this purpose is normally fairly low eg. 50mg initially. Trazodone does not cause much in the way of weight gain. It may cause some dizziness and drowsiness in the morning (but probably not if you're used to Seroquel!). Trazodone can also cause nausea and headache. Major side effects such as priapism are very rare. Most side effects are more of an irritation. Like all antidepressants, caution is needed in those who have a history of mania.
