glassy eyed

at the sink so sick he wallows
head hung low he grits his teeth
broken dreams he feels so hollow
quicksand's grip pulls him beneath

he lifts his head a stark reflection
empty eyes a weathered face
sees contempt and disaffection
disappointment won't erase

he lifts his hands to block the vision
covering eyes so dark from strain
this won't quell the mind's derision
only spell him his distain

This is so unnecessary, because if women could just put themselves in the shoes of their men, or any man who is loving, good, honest, and doing his best ... she would be calm, quiet, loving .. she would laugh often and generously, and she would lovingly guide, not deride ...
Every good man deserves that .. but unfortunately, the women they quite often look up to has forgotten how to model her most magnificent self.

I know it sounds sappy BTW, but it's just a feeling ... good men often forget how much they can give, themselves ... we need to learn to accept their best from them, and RUN with it, baby. Run with it, because it's joyful.
