Little drops of condensation running down
the outside of my cold glass

Composition: H2O

Inside the glass

Citric acid 5%
Ethanol 40%
H20 55%

Feeling funny

You know what a wise, wise person once told me?

Alcohol- it's a wonderful antidepressant. Unfortunately, it has bad side effects, including-- depression.

Fuc* Fu*k F*ck *uck

With all the love my shriveled heart can muster

climbing through the window
of the drunk me
leaving the crumbs of real time me
going out of my house
I figure I fall into a hostile bush
because I wake up with bruises
and scratches
beyond that window
is the void
that wonderful timeless place
I don't know what happens there
but when I come back to myself
my body has lost hours
my brain has lost cells
my liver has gained some fat
The void is not kind to me
I deserve the hurt it puts on me
I deserve the guilt
You can climb out the window
but if you can't climb back in
where does that leave you?
out in the endless dark
alone
no relief

Speaking for someone who battles the blues frequently, for me, its that buzz, that blissful buzz, transitory as it may be, that seduces me every time, well, almost every day. I avoid hostile bushes, most days, by avoiding chasing the buzz, which one rarely catches, mainly because it flees into bushes, if you know what I mean. Many of the loves of my life have led me to pain and regret, and that would definitely includes the buzz.

Oh, don't I know it.
The thing with not drinking any more is there isn't any place left to wallow. I miss wallowing. Kind of.
Nice to see you, Tophmaster.

Weeee- worth it?

I avoid the buzz by not buying alcohol to have at home.

The Smirnoff is special. I used it to make
Penne a la Vodka.

Which is an absolutely delightful dish I learned how to make from my husband's Italian side of the family. however... one cannot use an entire fifth of vodka in the recipe. So there was some left over.

In any case. I encountered a prickly bush in the form of a silent Psycho-Babble. I was yelling into a void. No one wanted to yell back at me... And then I went to bed. More ashamed than ever.

I'm going to try to be really strong tonight.

There's enough left for a buzz.

In the freezer. opaque and slushy.

you used the window
and the scrapes and scratches

to support your point.

I get it.

Yes.
I think I used it because when I was a kid if I got locked out of the house I'd climb in through the bathroom window.
Wow, a living Beatle lyric.

Ah, yes - that buzz. It is what entices me time and time again. It is blissful and maddening all at the same time.

I hate that buzz. Yet I crave it.

I've not not navigated life very skillfully or gracefully, but I've found that in a storm, sabrina, being intoxicated is sure to land me wrecked on a reef somewhere.
