Your Tie

Posted by Susan47 on October 20, 2005, at 21:06:49

It was blue that day. You stood behind the counter, your defense. Eyes down. Speaking to air. Speaking at me. You looked up, eyes meeting mine, following them to your tie.
The wet spot.
Something wiped at once,
over it's perfection.
You see what I see
and you grab your tie between two fingers,
flick the end outwards, at me ..
You Blush .. so beautifully.
So endearing, you.
And I realize, I hadn't been thinking
anything bad, just wondering what the rub was.
Was that the fabric, was it meant that way?
Or was it an accident,
perhaps you don't remember
But I loved you, once.

It's sad how a stain can linger longer than love.

Yup, that can be true, it seems ... only not real love. Real love is more about the relationship with yourself. It's about how you are willing to be treated and thought of, and how you give that back to the loved one(s).
That's all, Toph. That's all. :)

we have to work for everything that is worth having in life...

sometimes the work is hard, sometimes it is just keeping things running smoothly.

either way, the work is hard when we're depressed. everything is harder when we're depressed. But everything gets much easier when we are lifted from our depression.

I keep repeating to myself, "this too shall pass, this too shall pass, this too shall pass"...

It doesn't ALWYS work, but it keeps my head above water...

And after this life, none of the horrible stuff will remain, nothing will, so enjoy even that, if you can, because here's a truth, which I'm just making up as I go along but it feels right
Every bad thing that happens to us is an opportunity to grow and be better as a person.
Yuck, that sounds like a weird propagandist statement, and I know some circles have made words like those their buzzwords to make a lot of money, and although the end result might be positive, their methods are brutal.
Brutal.

The way we grow is an opportunity too. There are many different ways you can grow. But as long as you're alive, what some people don't seem to realize until they're really really old and others never do, and others do a lot earlier than some (i learned late) is that you can choose which way you want to grow And whether you know it or not, whether you choose to grow or not, you are. You can't help it. It's part of life, of the condition of being human. Your brain works when you don't even know it. But if you're slow on the conscious uptake, you're pretty much lost until you learn to Pay Attention. Then things get really interesting. And life has a whole no perspective, it's, like, Wow. Opportunity.
