What Do I Have?

Posted by smokeymadison on February 1, 2005, at 15:53:56

These few words
These few breaths
In this moment
That is eternity

It is here that blue roses exist
As beauty in the midst
Of the tragedy
That is life

It is here that a love grows
Between a man and a woman
So alike
Yet so different

It is here that I decide
That my life
Is best lived
In service to others

It is here that I know
Material necessities
Sustenance
Will be provided

It is here that I know
My friendships
Will not fade
Into the dim past

In this wide moment
Where sanity reaches out
And calms my mind
I know that I have

Lovely poem....it is here that I.....

Your poem is my kind of poem.
I like the ease and grace that it rolls out.
It calms me and gives me a sense of comfort.
thank you.

That's beautiful. Well done. Thanks for helping me remember that often all that we need is right in front of us and within our grasp when we are ready and the time is right (if that makes sense). I like the part about the service to others. That is, I think, such an important part of a meaningful life.

That's beautiful, yes.
Those moments in my life have been so brief, but illuminating and wonderful and uplifting. Freeing.
