You dropped a file...

Posted by Susan47 on February 4, 2005, at 19:12:51

and papers scattered everywhere. What did you do? I heard you softly say, "Oh, shoot."
There was humour in your voice.
Laughing at yourself.
And once again, my heart melted.
Never again.

I don't come here much. Too chicken. The last time I lurked on this board, I read things you wrote and

I cried.
Kept reading.
Cried some more.
Tore myself away.
Back and forth.
Don't read.
(but I have to...)
It hurts too much.
(but it feels good to hurt...sort of)
No, I can't. It's all too true.
(but I must)
And so it was.

But tonight
Tonight, dear Susan
With these five simple lines
You have touched me so deeply
In a place I usually keep protected
I am a lover of words
I live for their beauty, rhythm and power
But I am now utterly lost for them
You took my breath away
It's five little lines
It's intimacy, longing, wistful memory
grief sadness adoration
It's five little lines
It has pierced my heart.

Oh Susan. What did you do? How did you know?

My heart knows, as does yours.
We're lucky, you and I.
We understand the power of less spoken,
more said.

By the way, thank you for joining me here, and I really liked what you said and the way you said it, you made me well up in tears .. now quit that, I'm getting wrinkles fast enough already. (((10derheart)))

Those lines destroyed me beautifully.

If amount of tears equals wrinkles, I ought to look like a Sharpei (sp.?) dog by now.... Besides, what the heck's wrong with wrinkles?!

Thanks for being so welcoming. I love this board, but it intimidates me. I LOVE to write, but have little confidence. Babble gives me practice, though. On the other boards. If I posted on this one now, it would be nothing but outpourings about old T. I'm not too sure that's good for me or anyone. But I'll keep reading for sure. Please, please keep writing. Hugs - 10der

Yes.

I told old T. (by email) once how I loved his knack for saying so much by saying so little. Both in person and with one line emails.

He sent me back a nice :-).

I've tried to learn that art from him. He understands, too. ouch. <sigh> :( :(

Yes, ouch is right. When someone seems beautiful on the inside, it just melts me. I do write about my old therapist, and I suppose that's why you respond. Your feelings are probably similar to mine. You haven't tried posting any writing yet? You really should. It's very therapeutic and so far no one's told me I'm full of sh*t although like every other person on planet earth I'm full of contradictions and go back and forth, back and forth on my zigzag road.

...one of my deepest, darkest secrets...that I am a bonified, true blue former Trekkie (or Trekker, as some of us preferred waaaay back then)

No fair, you're either psychic (no, I didn't say psycho...don't GO there!) or someone is telling you my secrets!

Well, we here at Babble do know a lot about going where "no man (or woman of course) has gone before", now don't we? Now where did I leave the keys to the Enterprise...always losing those darn things.....
