And my husband looked at me and quoted one of the last lines of Smokey and the Bandit. Something about double or nothing you run up to Boston and bring back some clam chowder for me and my daddy. In eighteen hours.
Grin. It was funnier when my husband remembered the exact words, and had the accent right.
He could have added that he'd put $500 on the Bandit. That'd have been a nice show of faith.
However, my husband was right. The next impossible deadline will be looming, and I need to not relax and recover from this one, but get back on the road.
"We're going to do what they say can't be done. We got a long way to go and a short time to get there."
(I really need to reevaluate my lifestyle and goals.)

Don't know nothing bout Smokey and the Bandit, but I'm scrounging around for some money so as to place my bet.
I'm betting on Dinah, don't know bout no Bandits.

I think Dinah needs to stop taking on those challenges. :) My family needs me here, chasing down dustbunnies and sanding and painting the underhang. And cooking real meals (although they're not crazy about my cooking.)
One person at my work posts the hours she's going to work at the beginning of each week and sticks to that. Granted, no one's happy about it, and if the labor shortage ever gets fixed it might be a problem for her. But it sure seems appealing.
Of course, if I could manage to set a schedule and keep to it, the deadlines might be less deadly.

Hi, friend of Dinah.
I'm going to agree with your advice for Dinah.
She's been working herself way too hard-- and at the least needs a break and reasonable hours. For her family and herself.
Wish you could talk to her. She might listen to you. :)
