Bromazepam is a benzodiazepine as lorazepam is, different half lifes and potency but the same drug from the same family.

Thats alprazolam linnie, another benzo, quick acting, potent with a very short half life.

Lorazepam is generally considered a higher risk (of tolerance & addiction) than longer acting benzos such as clonazepam. The latter is most often used to reduce side effects of A/Ds, judging from the postings here. On the other hand, lorazepam may give you more overall benefit - clonazepam for me has a kind of dulling effect, while lorazepam was almost like an anti-depressant in itself.

Watch out for the usual danger signals - looking forward to your next dose, dose escalation on your own, etc.

You seem like a bright guy. I've taken Lexapro for about 4 months now and it hasn't done shit for me. And it takes forever to bust a nut. (which can be a good thing, but not lately for me) BTW- I drink everyday, is this what's F-ing up the medication????

Yup... Alcohol does a number on you when taking lex AND increased anxiety... I have found out the hard way that I cannot drink every day and when I do, I have to limit it to 1 (the best) or 2 at the very most. Luckily I realized this before I upped my dose. I went to 15 mgs but not I am back on 10 and ok if I watch the alcohol.

Drinking is always a bad thing when you have psychological problems. I drink every few days (get drunk, every few days) and I don't think it has any effect on my Lexapro intake.. Ssri's like all antidepressants can only help you, they will never make you "better", thats up to you at the end of the day... work with the pills, take care of yourself and keep off the drugs.. Good luck xxx
