2. My sister wanted to become pregnant and she made the wish (after sending this email around the world in 2.1 minutes) and you know what happened! Within two months, she was pregnant.
3. Make a wish! A big wish! Then scroll down and read this story. If you send this to 10 friends (and back to the sender) you will receive your wish in 72 hours.
4. If you do not keep this letter moving, you and your family will experience a terrible tragedy. (like if you have dentures, will they fly out when you sneeze? will you forget to take a Depends when you go to have coffee with the President? will world peace elude you one more time? the dog will eat the paper that you had written the cure for cancer on? )
I got one yesterday from an elderly friend. It is that "email scrabble"....I burdened Zen and my two daughters with it. My oldest was able to turn "pure" into "puke".. I died laughing and wrote back that it was the exact word I wanted.
Do you get these and what are the conditions in yours? Surely we can get some laughs out of these doggone things!

I feel immediately defeated when I receive them and delete them before I read them in their entirety. I am so sure to disappoint.
Is it the depression speaking, or my nature to not believe in Luck? (Too many years of watching my parents spend the rent or mortgage money on lottery tickets has colored my views, it seems. Talk about a Trigger.)So, no, I don't pass on chain mail letters or even read them, no matter what the promises are.

I'm with PC... they're all manipulative and I hate feeling manipulated, so I try to delete them unread.

BUT, I have two little friends who have no social life and I feel horrid if I don't read theirs. One is very religious and the other one is as crazy as we are. (hers are funny...the others are depressing) I'm softhearted when it comes to lonely little women. :-)
And of course they are manipulative but equally full of ****.

Hey, I don't think I've had THAT one yet. But the Nigerians keep wanting my bank account details, have had for years now.

I read a blog about the Nigerian scams. After reading the tricks that the writer had pulled, I came up with my own.
I came up with an email address that just oozed Texas money..how could anyone not suspect this one? RichTexanEmpire?
I wrote back to one of the "counsellors" and asked if he knew someone who could do a wood carving of a beaver. He did!
I told him that I own several galleries in Texas and then I asked if the beaver could be wearing a ten gallon hat. It could!
I told him that I represent dozens of famous artists...When I listed them, I just slightly messed up their names. "Ven Gogh", "Picasa".. you get my drift and where this is going, don't you?
And I asked him if he was familiar with their works. He was!I asked for a sketch of the design for the ten-gallon hat wearing buffalo and he sent one! It looked like a cross between a rock with feet and a large dog with a porkpie hat on.
Then he asked for my bank info. I wrote back and told him that all of my money was in a "ghost bank" and it would be almost impossible for me to tell him that before I paid for the sculpture. He told me that he also kept him money in ghost banks.
Then he asked for a pic of a beaver. I sent that and a picture of a cowboy hat.
To make a hilarious story short, after two weeks I told him that I hoped he was busy whittling in the internet cafe in the Phillipines and "Ciao"....He was furious with "RichTexanEmpire". (I was between jobs) :-)

I don't get the Nigerian ones anymore since got free spamfighter on internet it works well. Only answer the ones of family and friends and comply to make them feel good. Phillipa

I've heard you mention that spamfighter often. Did you know they still send out the Nigerian spam solicitation in the regular US mail too? I don't think that program fights that one. Can't protect yourself from everything. I used to get them at work all the time - it's been going on for about 20 years. I would pass them on to the State department, unopened.

I get tons of them. I almost never ever send one on to anybody. If it is great, I might send it to one or two people, but I would do that without anyone asking if it were that terrific. Few things are.

Sometimes I'll get one where the actual content is interesting or inspiring.
Sometimes I'll try to figure out how to alter the end part that predicts dire consequences, so that I can comfortably send it on.
Or I'll put a little disclaimer at the top like, "Please ignore the last 2 sentences, but I thought the rest was nice" etc.

I found after sending one or two emails back to those nigerian thugs saying things like I guess you thought I just fell off the turnip truck or if something sounds too good to be true then it is too good, that I haven't gotten one in a long time. I always send back a smart as* answer and never get another one. Besides it is fun to mess to with them. Then I forward the email to FBI. Who sends back a message saying out of their jurisdiction.
So lately no more Nigerians.

I haven't had one since I ordered the "Texas Beaver". :-)

What gets me is when they say that they have $..... for me & I must retrieve it within however long.
And the email is FILLED with grammatical errors & crap!!! I was actually laughing out loud about one & was also furious!!
Tried to find out who to contact. It seemed to be out of EVERYone's jurisdiction!

I have a Comanche friend, in her 80s, and she sends the one that say "if you don't send this one, it means you don't have many friends."
I've known her for 30 years and gone to many powwows and danced with her and I never knew that she would "threaten" me with no friends or the one about "you'll fall deathly ill in 35 minutes". :-)
My favourites are messing with the Nigerians who live in the Phillipines or India.....
