No, not right now. Overtired, can't sleep properly, can't stop worrying about sleep, crying. I would love some rip van winkle time.
A bit of a mess.Ambien is making me forget words. Sonata doesn't work at all. Last night I took the Ambien and stayed up for so long afterwards that I became quite incoherent. I panic when the sleepy tricks don't work. Warm bath, hot milk, relaxing music, meditation, gentle yoga, counting those darn sheep. I became awake and dreaming or nightmaring. It's happened several times in the past, I'm just lucky to be safe.

I was on Ambien for just a short while and there was a reason (but can't recall) I discontinued it.
Now, I'm on Soma (carisoprodol) 350mg. Sometimes only need half a pill. You take it when you're already in bed. I get this from my PCP re: pain i.e. c-spine, fibromyalgia, headache. I like it because it's not an AD and has no 'psych' overtones. I sleep through the entire night well. I awaken w/o any groggy feeling.
I'm also taking 75mg Lyrica which seems be giving me a little sense of well-being, although I understand it works diff' for diff' peeps. It is for pain, and I think it's now prescribed as a sort of AD.

Sleep problems can make a mess of things. I wake up almost every morning at 3-4 a.m. Have Sonata...like you not impressed w/ it.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. You've always been such an inspiration to me, I hate that you're not feeling well.
Ambien definitely messes with you. You can have conversations and not remember it. And you actually stayed awake after taking it! Wow, I'm surprised you were as coherent as you were!.
I'm sending good sleepy vibes your way.

P.S. Could it be a medication that's interfering with your sleep?

Most likely. My pdoc had me switch my cymbalta dosage from bedtime to morning, and increased my lamictal (taken at bedtime) to 400mg from 300mg. I'm a wreck!! Too many changes at once. If I go to sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night with enormous anxiety, and I don't even have anything to take for that. Bloody meditation has a had time getting going while I'm panting and my chest and throat feel like a boa constrictor is taking a nap on me.
Yuck.

Clearskies- you definitely sound like a GREAT candidate for seroquel. I used to take 25 mg at night for sleeping. Worked EVERY time. Kept me asleep too. I needed more mood-stabilization & anti-psychotic effect, so I went up to 300mg.
Anti-psychotic, bipolar anti-depressant, bipolar anti-mania, and mood stabilizer. Not to mention, super-sedating!!
I take 120mg cymbalta at night. yes it's activating, but even 25 mg seroquel can kick it's *ss.
take care, Clearskies, and you too corafree- did you make it through the weekend without ice cream?
(I cheated and had frozen yogurt. oh well...)

Clear Skies could be your body is changing you know what I am referring to as I slept like a log until then. Now it's four hours only. No matter what. When I talked with the endo guy today he said oh your bodies routine. A prn of a benzo is what I use. Actually I save a portion of my go to sleep benzo for when I wake up and that fixes the problem for me. Love Phillipa

But I'm not ready to give up my sleep!! The anxiety is just crippling, and I'm in a benzo-free zone now.
I'm going to ask about low dose of Seroquel, as Li and others have suggested, or maybe Lunesta. I am *convinced* that it's my psych meds that make me unable to sleep. Maybe I'm in denial (who, me??) but I gotta, gotta, gotta get some sleep.
I'm thinking of just giving in to my body for now and sleep whenever and for however long I can. This is crazy-making :-(Thanks

No IC Li, but coincidence, had FY (What does he look like? haha) 'w/ hot fudge syrup' myself. Wish they'd make in more flavors.
He keeps calling, sounds sad. My phone otherwise does not ring often.
Hope you're 'on the search' for a good night's sleep Clear Skies.
