Believe it or not a lot of people use puching bags to relieve anxiety and anger. Fondly, Phillipa

It works for me. Try a boxing gym. They can be very friendly un-macho places especially with the boom in "white collar boxing". Great stress reliever, incredible work out - it makes me more serene than church does and I walk out feeling over the moon.

I met someone on a plane once who teaches karate to kids with ADHD. She says, and I've seen abstracts of studies (reader beware, I didn't read the actual studies) that seem to validate this effect.

I would imagine the mindfulness and physical control are very helpful.

Some psychiatrists have speculated that ADHD is affected in som eway by physical coordination issues (which is why juggling is recommended) Hallowell describes this in "Delivered from Distraction" For me th focus on form in boxing is both the most challenging and one of the most useful parts of it.

Hmm, I should get back to yoga, then. And I had to learn to juggle in high school for a class. I bet I could pick that up again, too.

Because "grace" is NOT my middle name.
