Just realized something kind of embarrassing

Posted by Deneb on August 4, 2005, at 21:30:45

I think Dr. Bob has became like one of my plush animal friends!

Since he is no longer evil to me, he is now a friend...the only kind of friend I can really make...one who doesn't talk.

Hmmm...let's see...

Plush animals-->Hammy-->Dr. Bob-->Online friends-->RL friends?

LOL :-)

Well, that wasn't quite what I expected. But then again you do have a certain talent for leaving me looking on in wide-eyed amazement. You are certainly one out the box Deneb, and a true joy in your own special way.

Now just remember; don't feed him after midnight and don't get him wet - just in case :-), one knows about these things.

That was priceless! I'm sorry if your embarrasment made me laugh but sometimes the things you say are so -- Deneb. ( a very good thing) I can't describe it any other way.

Don't forget, no bright lights either!

Yikes, this is scary stuff. I'd like to think Dr. Bob doesn't have an evil side. ;-)

Hi Deneb. Hmmm. . .I'm confused. I thought we were your friends, yet we talk -- or babble, as the case may be.

By the way, I've been meaning to tell you that I think "Hammy" is the cutest name! Can you post a photo of Hammy on this board?

Hmmm...yes, you're right, but I'm not sure I'm a very good friend yet...there is much to learn. It is nice to know I am considered a friend. :-)

Heehee, "Hammy" isn't exactly an original name...to tell the truth it just kind of stuck with him whilst trying to find a really creative name. :-)

You are in luck...my sister has the digital camera but I just found some old pics of Hammy and make a very quick webpage.

Maybe Hammy can become our mascot for a while. He's so cute. I'm surprised though because he's bigger than I thought he would be. Perhaps the photos are deceiving, but he looks more like a guinea pig, and he has longer hair than the hamsters I had years ago. I can't have any hamsters now because my cats would probably eat them.

I have a teddy bear hamster also, named Perkins. He looks like Hammy but is darker brown. I get alot of pleasure out of having him around. When I'm down, Perkins makes me smile. I especially like picking him up when he's sleeping because he'll continue sleeping curled up in the palm of my hand. Does Hammy do that?

> I have a teddy bear hamster also, named Perkins. He looks like Hammy but is darker brown.

When Hammy was growing up, he was almost black in colour (outer coat grey/black and inner coat cream coloured) and had shorter fur. As he got big, his fur got longer and longer and lighter in colour. He really changed! His fur used to be even longer, sweeping the floor as he walked...my little living duster. :-) Bedding gets stuck in it and I have to brush it out for him sometimes.

>I get alot of pleasure out of having him around. When I'm down, Perkins makes me smile.

When I'm upset, holding Hammy can calm me down. I can't be angry at the little guy. I love his hamster antics.

> I especially like picking him up when he's sleeping because he'll continue sleeping curled up in the palm of my hand. Does Hammy do that?

That is the cutest thing ever! Unfortunately Hammy doesn't do that...he wakes up easily from sleep. Sometimes he sleeps really deeply though and nothing seems to wake him up, but I'd rather just let him sleep and try not to bother him then. I tried to hold him while sleeping today and I ended up just waking the little guy...he got a blueberry though. :-)

You can tell because his ears are folded down. :-) At night when he is active, his little ears point up and he scurries about on his short little legs...it's very funny to watch. He doesn't run very fast and is easy to catch.
