When Hammy was growing up, he was almost black in colour (outer coat grey/black and inner coat cream coloured) and had shorter fur. As he got big, his fur got longer and longer and lighter in colour. He really changed! His fur used to be even longer, sweeping the floor as he walked...my little living duster. :-) Bedding gets stuck in it and I have to brush it out for him sometimes.

When I'm upset, holding Hammy can calm me down. I can't be angry at the little guy. I love his hamster antics.

That is the cutest thing ever! Unfortunately Hammy doesn't do that...he wakes up easily from sleep. Sometimes he sleeps really deeply though and nothing seems to wake him up, but I'd rather just let him sleep and try not to bother him then. I tried to hold him while sleeping today and I ended up just waking the little guy...he got a blueberry though. :-)
