Tonight my wife is out partying with her friends. It is also our wedding aniversary. I won't see her until tommorow now. seems like all I do is work, sleep, work, sleep. I can't even enjoy my kids because I'm a walking zombie from work, sleep, work, sleep. 10 to 14 hours a day at work in a factory, come home, rush around like crazy. Can't get anything done. Feel like crap. I don't know if I am alive or dead sometimes. I fall asleep at red lights all the time. No hope. How did my life get so incredibly shitty?

Your wife is out partying with her friends on YOUR wedding anniversary? Ouch!
I'm sorry lawrence. Life does get out of control sometimes. I wish I could help but my own is pretty crappy too, any advice from me wouldn't be very good I fear.
Just know I'm thinkin about you and hoping the sun shines down on you.
hugs

Hey Lawrence, sorry to here you're in such straits.
I know the lonely feeling. Often I think, "It's not possible for ONE person to feel THIS lonely!" I feel lonely enough for about 20 persons.
Sorry your wife is out partying ... or is that okay with you? Do you feel lonely even when you're with her?
Check in with us when you get a chance, okay?

It hurts, doesn't it? I think the worst kind of
loneliness is when you're actually with someone,
but there's no connection (like with you and your
wife)...it makes the loneliness more intense. Maybe
these responses will help somewhat. I am really sorry...
Maybe you and your kids could take a special outing or something.
I hope your life gets happy at some point and that all this
is just a bad memory. Wishing happiness your way.

>How did my life get so incredibly shitty?
------------It sneaks up on you like that. You learn to live with one sacrifice, and then another, always for the betterment of finances and relationships, until you can't take anything else on, and then it feels overwhelming. It's how I felt a few years ago, mainly because I was too accomodating to everyone who wanted something from me. I didn't think about my own well being, or that I even deserved to be happy. Ideally, I'd have been around people who would've cared about me enough to see my misery and help me out, but that wasn't the case.
My point being, if the people around you really care about you, they'll listen to you like we have, and try to ease your burden. Still, if not, you're the only one who can stand up for you. Don't let anyone/thing keep you down unreasonably.

I read a bit of your earlier posts but didn't have much time to stay at the comp so never followed it through. I recall your wife is alcoholic, doesn't care about changing, & your life & that of your children are in a major rut. I also know that Phil (I think) suggested Al-Anon.
I'd seek out some association there with others who know what you're going through, & while I don't advocate breaking up marriages, I do know that if someone stays in a dead-end marriage for "the kids" or because it takes too much effort to get out of it bacause one's so down, it'll only get worse & worse before it all blows up (or rots into nothingness).
If you're certain she's not going to change her actions, then you need to change yours. Find a lawyer (or free legal and/or family aid) to protect yourself & your children, & get out while you still have a spark of life in you. Get out before your children are destroyed. Get out before there's nothing left in your life. And perhaps, such drastic action may be what she finally needs to wake up & face the results.
Speaking as one who should've gotten out years earlier, but still managed to save myself & my sons with some dignity & self-esteem intact.

----------------------Effexor does do that, but then it keeps you from ever getting anywhere with it. So frustrating!

Thats interesting, down here in the U.S. it's pronounced Springsteen. LOL. I live in Wisconsin most of the time. In summer, I live in the northernmost part of Minnesota. I would be there right now if the weather was'nt so crappy.
I have never heard of Malmsteen. What kind of stuff does he play. I guess I'm getting too old to keep up with all the new stuff. I really would like to buy a lot of new cd's. I love a good guitarist. I also play the thing and would'nt mind learning a few new lick's. I spend a lot of nights composing music on the computer.
What part of Canada are you in? How's your French?Lawrence.
