Of course, people are free to try what they like, but this treatment doesnt seem to have mainstream medical research findings, at least that I have found via the huge National Cancer Institute site(http://www.nci.nih.gov/)
Medical trials matter as what helps one person may not help another, and there is a strong placebo effect (which makes researching *any* treatment difficult).There's no entry for it in HerbMed, unfortunately (http://www.herbmed.org/)
All I'm really trying to say is that there is a lack of information so far, and its a complicated situation. People should be aware of that to make an informed decision- they may decide to try it on this basis, of course. I'm only going on about it as I know there are a lot of desperate people with cancer out there, and I would want to give them the best chance of making an informed decision.

Thanks for doing so much research on this. I didn't know a little post like this would get someone's knickers in a bunch. But I'd like to respond to your points.

I have read some stories from someone who knows (I know a relative of this tea person and someone treated by it) about the effects of this tea, including reasons no one in the government or medical community will look at it seriously.

Medical trials do matter. And, as you say, what works for one may not work for another. But how would anyone know if I didn't post the link? And I'd say that a placebo effect, if it makes someone feel less sick (while still getting treatment), is better than no effect at all. Research or no.

I never suggested--and no one would ever suggest--that someone should take this and eschew all other forms of treatment. It is tea. It doesn't hurt you, and if it can help to make you feel better or even appear to have an impact on cancer, then folks should know about it--IN ORDER to make that informed decision. Can't choose something you've never heard of, right?
As for those desperate people out there, here's one more thing that might make a difference. Might. May. Could. There are no guarantees in life.
I know someone whose father is using it now, on this friend's recommendation, in conjunction with chemo and radiation. He insists he feels better now than he did before he started using the tea. That's good enough for me. Quality of life becomes even more important when quantity of life is threatened.

I think we both agree that people are free to try whatever they like.
My issues are re people knowing the level of evidence for things claiming to be treatments, but this reflects a huge debate we dont need to get into here, maybe?
Can I suggest we leave it at that?

Cancer is an individual hotchpotch of genetic disorders that culminate in a house of cards structural breakdown in celluar process..
I can't see how this could be anything but usefull or preventative at best.
