In reply to know anyone with cancer?, posted by beardedlady on June 11, 2002, at 18:18:46
Of course, people are free to try what they like, but this treatment doesnt seem to have mainstream medical research findings, at least that I have found via the huge National Cancer Institute site(http://www.nci.nih.gov/)
Medical trials matter as what helps one person may not help another, and there is a strong placebo effect (which makes researching *any* treatment difficult). There's no entry for it in HerbMed, unfortunately (http://www.herbmed.org/)
All I'm really trying to say is that there is a lack of information so far, and its a complicated situation. People should be aware of that to make an informed decision- they may decide to try it on this basis, of course. I'm only going on about it as I know there are a lot of desperate people with cancer out there, and I would want to give them the best chance of making an informed decision.
