I finally went in a week late... on a friday. I received no care other than dishing out of pills the whole weekend (put it down to being a weekend) then on the monday (still not seen a doc!) they had to close the ward as our water supply got heavily contaminated, so i got sent home! Returned on wednesday and got a huge 5 minutes with a pdoc... then at 6pm they finally tell me they haven't got a bed for me as they accidently gave it away... I return friday and spend all day there AGAIN, to see a pdoc for another 5 minutes and then sent home!!! I have been reffered to a Psychotherapist, but it will be at least 12 weeks before I get the initial appointment!!! Also I got refferred to the day hospital (a weeks wait they said!) but I still haven't heard anything about it!!! So, all in all, nothing what so ever happened!!! I am starting to slowly remove myself off the effexor so that when I see a new pdoc (this week apparently, but heard nothing!) I can try a med change.
Health care in the UK is turning into a total joke!!!!!!!

Do I have you confused with someone else? Did this mean they gave up on that strategy? Nope, you haven't got me mixed up!!! I still can't believe all the crap that has gone on over the past few eeks... I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me.
I ahve no ideas what is going to happen in the future. I have started titrating myself off the Effexor slowly myself, so that I am half way there if I ever get to see a pdoc again (they can't fit me in.. can u believe it).
I wish there was some way out of this poo!!

I'm.. well, I'm here and thats somewhere I wasn't sure I'd be this weekend...
have managed to get a pdoc appointment on 2nd May now... no newws on day hospital other than tyhey spoke to consultant pdoc, the refferal was found on his secrataries desk... Spoke to them yesterday and they still hadn't received it. Ho hum.

Hi Nikki - the NHS are flaming useless, aren't they? A few months ago I managed to get my employer to put me on BUPA, which is nice. The only trouble is, it doesn't cover mental problems. Unfortunately! I was hoping to see a private therapist for a few months under this scheme, but no chance. And at £90 a session, there is no way I can afford it myself.
So what is the latest with you... are they going to offer you a bed later on, or is it all off?
