Translation

Posted by Rzip on October 19, 2000, at 0:04:31

Your subject translates to: "I touched the bottom of a swimming pool". A Faith Hill sort of song from the tone of the lyrics.

I wanted to bring something to your attention. I was reading PB today on my University campus computers today, and I noticed that my on-line name, along with the password was already imprinted on the computer! I think it is because I used it previously to write something. Anyway, the lesson is that one needs to erase after oneself in public. Otherwise, other people could potentially write under your name. I did the erase cookies thing, but I have already used a lot of computers on campus before I noticed this phenomenon. So, take home lesson is to remember to erase in public.

I was wondering if there is a way, computer-wise to block the name (and the password!) from automatically showing up. So, the potential problem of pseudo-Rzip can be avoided.

J'ai touché l'fond d'la piscine
dans l'petit pull marine
Tout déchiré aux coudes
qu'j'ai pas voulu recoudre
Que tu m'avais donné,
j'me sens tell'ment abandonnée

It's not only at the bottom of the pool
that my eyes are dark
You'd spotted them
tough there was no exchange of glances
and you made your advances
and now i'm paying for the after effects

refrain(R). before touching the bottom
I go down backwards
never having quite been aware of what was going on
at the bottom (of things)

The bottom of the pool is full of chlorine,
I've drunk a cup. tchin' tchin'
As it's for you i don't give a damn,
and i'm willing to do anything
and I don't care if I swallow
or if they find me helf dead

drwnoed at the bottom of the pool,
no one saw you
under my little sweater
you'd enlace me I'd kiss you
to the point of no return
which was the limit of our love

refrain(R). before touching the bottom
I go down backwards
never having quite been aware of what was going on
at the bottom (of things)

hurry down to the bottom of the pool
to save your tiny little fish
to stop her from drowning
and to hold her at the bottom of your heart
your stalking little sister
who seeks air of your loving mannerism

If the two of us are at the bottom of the pool,
headlines in the tabloids
will take over the case
and i will have to wear sunglasses
to expose all the things i need to hide

refrain(R). before touching the bottom
I go down backwards
never having quite been aware of what was going on
at the bottom (of things)

come and meet me at the bottom of the pool
before it murders me
to go on without you
You can count on me
never again will I act out
like the star who's always
going from one breakdown to the next

I've reached the bottom of the pool
In the little sweater that you'd given me
All torn up at the elbows
which I chose not to mend
I feel so abandoned

> Pullmarine,

I song's title is the same as your on-line name. Interesting. Is there a symbolic meaning to your on-line name (or real name)? I am very interested to know how you are feeling these days.

I am also glad to read the translation. However, I do not deserve any credit. PULLMARINE was kind enought to translate it for us.

Thanks for the real translation, zip.

No. I just like the song, or for that matter, anything that Serge Gainsbourg wrote.

I understand now. I see my therapist as a threat also. I am glad that you are striving to find those answers that will propel you forward. I just wanted to point out that someone really cared about you to post this song.
