I'll be talking about the t-me relationship. I hope that it all goes well. basically there was some awkward moments in our last session and I feel like I am trying to impress him somehow and not being authentic.
I'm debating baking cookies for our session. would that be acceptable? We have discussed and joked that bringing T pastries is acceptable at any time. I didn't get him anything for xmas

Funny you should mention cookies. I've loved taking my T Valentine cookies. I asked her last week if it would be ok if I brought her some. Her reply was I could bring one for her and one for me and we would share in eating them together and it would be fun. I see her tonight so I had to make them last night. A couple of very heart wrenching things have happened the past few days. I made 6 big cookies last night. I decorated the cookies, put them on a cute plate etc. but my heart wasn't into taking them, so I let my co-workers eat them.
Cookies are great, go with it! Sorry for the novel.

Lurpsie what are those? Not a baker myself used to be. Love Phillipa . Think it's fine to bring something you've baked. Do you bake them?

so, I have made two batches of madeleines so far. the first one I made with the recipe in "joy of cooking"
they turned out brilliantly. buttery, rich, not too sweet, lovely crumb
the second batch I made exactly the same, substituting heart healthy margarine for the butter. I know that T has high cholesterol, or something like that
DISASTER. they puffed up like soufflés, then all the oil from the margarine separated, and the souffle's collapsed. the end result was tiny little lemon omelettes soaked in vegetable oil.
My next attempt will use muffin batter, since it's lower in fat than classic madeleine batter. if it fails, I'm going back to the classic recipe, screw high cholesterol!
sigh. I'm sure there are other things I could be doing on my day off.

I *do* wonder!
I know I surprised him at halloween when I gave him a half pound of estate coffee in a black bag decorated with witches...he said it made his day

madeleines are like cupcakes baked in shell-shaped scalloped molds. they are buttery and delicious, especially with coffee or tea.
I bake them, since I got a new-fangled silicone pan to help me get them unstuck
