Big Thanks to ALL Babblers..VERYLONG-LONGEST EVER!

Posted by rskontos on November 29, 2007, at 11:32:12

I have done a lot of thinking and came up with lots of answers for myself. But am in tons of turmoil with inner/parts peeps. (Someone on here called Muffled's people her peeps and I just loved that so if you remember who you are thank you this is how I refer to them in my head)

I have a song I found that has helped me come back and I want to share it with you guys. One of my peeps, the teen or wild one likes hip-hop, r& b and other music so I listen to that too. This is be Fergie. Who I like...parts of me do.....

The name of the song is Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)

La Da Da Da Da
The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself and Center, Clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS:]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightening out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

The path that I'm walking
I must go alone
I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown
Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they?
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

[CHORUS:]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightening out to do
[Big Girls Don't Cry lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and UNO cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be mine Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself and Center, Clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightening out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

La Da Da Da Da Da

I don't know who or whom she wrote it for but it really hit home with us. I played it over and over and it soothed us and helped us get strong and get over some things and be able to move a little out of the dark. Or as the song says be Big Girl or an adult. I had a good day until one of the little ones crashed. But I realize now as I go each day, that I can be around but the little ones will take longer cuz they use emotions and feelings to make themselves known. And that is hard. Maybe it is cause they are too young to talk. Maybe they are so little they don't have words. Maybe that is why they can't talk. They only can feel sad, hurt, angry, etc. That is what I think. And I have good 1/2 days, and that is ok. I must deal with each of them cuz they are me too. Sometimes I let wild one out now to have fun, but must be careful cuz she could get us in lots of trouble but she is fun. She finds great music too.

Thanks all for the support and kind words. Real Me, Llurpsie, I need hugs( I always want one when I read your name online), Muffled,Star, ClearSkies, TherapyGirl, and Dinah. It really meant alot to me.

I hope you enjoy my song***. I have more if anyone interested. rk
I think music is great therapy until I see my T. It will 2 weeks until I go so this is how I am making it. Love to all, and thanks
rk

****The song was written and performed by Fergie on her Dutchess album. Great album by the way very theraputic, I just like to call it mine now because it means so much.

SO GOOD to see you back. And thanks for sharing the song with us. I'm trying to screw up the nerve to drag up some XXXmas decorations. I haven't been the same since Thanks-for-nuthing-giving. Maybe I'll put my Charlie Brown Christmas CD on. It always makes me cry, but a good kind of cry.

Thanks for coming back to Babble.

Our downtown helped me get into the spirit. It is very pretty little historic city and all the decorations looked nice. Plus the renovations they are doing are so pleasing to look at with the pretty white lights. So I bought a statue of Santa with a Nice boy and girl list and toys, he stays about 3 feet tall. Something about him made me feel good so I bought him, I went looking for wreaths for my door. I found some with Santa. So I have started my decorations and it made me feel better. Like I put my Thanks-for-nuthing-giving behind me. Oh did I mention that my lovely brother in law broke my bathroom tile and messed up my stairs in my new house but I am going to be like Scarlett in Gown with the Wind and think about that a nuther day.

I am enjoying my Santa vibe. Besides I like talking to Santa, he doesnt talk back. Thanks for the welcome. I like Charlie Brown. Did you like Peppermint Patty. I never could decide if I did. She seems to bossy like many in my family. always inviting herself over for something. I think she can come to my Turkey Pot Pie Thanksgiving next year.

I cracked up the cashier at the Super Target with declaring next year turkey pot pies only. She wondered why I had to buy so much because everyone ATE everything. We had the best time laughing about what to serve with the turkey pot pies.

Take care.....if you don't get your decorations up I'll let you borrow Santa......rk

I liked all the characters in Peanuts, even Peppermint Patty, because she had the sass that I always wished I had. I used to have the record from the broadway show, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown!", I would role play everybody in turn hiding away in my room.

I compromised, since we'll be away for XXXmas itself, by putting up all my other decorations. They consist of a collection of musical snowglobes, and a bunch of different snowmen. (Can you tell I miss SNOW??) Oh, and the coffee cups and tea towels. And I found my "Mistletoe" Yankee Candle stuff, so the house at least smells right.

I looked around on Pandora internet radio, and found a XXXmas genre radio station, which I have playing some jazzy XXXmas music now.

So what if the air conditioning is on - it's XXXmas in my house, at least a little bit. It felt good to reclaim some spirit from the waive-like feeling I've been hauling around all week long.

I take it you live in the very south or california or somewhere it is warm as it is about 30 degrees where I live, only no snow. It seems my passion is Nutcrackers, I bought three new ones, two for the kitchen and one for the great room. The new snowlady is very pretty and she in on the mantel with the new santa I bought too. I like Santa's too. I need to get some pretty ribbon to hang up my new wreaths. I might have some in my stored stuff so I will drag that out tomorrow.

I think we are putting up a real tree since we need a new larger one (we moved this year) and the fake one we have is too small. I like real ones even if they are a pain. I want to buy one this weekend.

I like listening to xmas music too but right now my son is listening to rap and it hard for xmas tunes to compete..lol.

Yes you are right it is good to reclaim some spirit!!!!

East coast, way south. Palm trees. I don't even try to have a pumpkin at Halloween because they rot in about 3 days. (They cave in on themselves so they do look extra gruesome, but the cleanup is wicked.)

RSK, thanks so much for coming back and letting us know how you're doing.

CS convinced me to buy the charliebrownchristmasmusic.

It's very soothing in a jazzy retro way. reminds me of what we SHOULD be doing. chillin'

I got no peeps. just me myself and I and occasionally there is a rift in the space-time continuum and things don't feel right. My experience anyways.

peeps away!

Hi RK,

Having been in my own little depressed world lately I didn't know you were gone, which is good because I would definitely miss you.

I'm glad your teen peep and you find comfort in that song. My innter teen is stuck in the 70s, though she does like Pink.

But I am doing ok without her for now, just therapizing myself and doing ok for now........and saving $$$. LOL

Again, so sorry you are not doing well. My teen self went through the 70's and we no like so we now like rap and r&B. Let me know if I can help and take care, let us know how you are....

rsk,
If you see my name online or you need a hug anytime, all you have to do is ask. (((((((RSK))))))) It's about 30 degrees where I live too, so a nice warm hug would feel good about now. Hey! Maybe we're neighbors. So much for Clearskies and her sunshine and palm trees. LOL HUGS to both of you.

((((RSK))))
I'm in PA. It's 33 with 40mph winds and it feels like it's in the teens. We're expecting 2-3 inches of snow. I hate this. My 47 year-old body can't take this anymore. My nephew is getting his PhD soon and he is getting married in May. He
has a job interview in San Francisco next week.
They want to move out west so I may just sell my house and move wherever they decide to go. I probably won't but it's nice to dream. Please let me know how your therapy goes. I'll be thinking about you. HUGS
