Does anyone else's T talk about Byron Katie and "The Work" with them?
I had a falling out with, of all people, my cat sitter; which triggered me badly about my ex-husband. Some emotional abuse being heaped at me for going out of town as often as I do, I think. So my T asked me to write about the cat sitter, since I couldn't put the exchange out of my mind. I can't always get the process to go smoothly, but this time I must have worked a lot of it out in my head already, because the turnaround came really quickly.
Does anybody else here use this technique?

I've never heard of Byron Katie or 'The Work', but I often write to get things out of my head. What exactly do you write? What is the turnaround? Sounds interesting. I'm going to check it out.

Have a google. I read the book "Loving What Is" a few years ago but I'm just now getting to the point where I can start applying myself to do some of the exercises. I had to get some of my ducks in a row first - get some serious sobriety in, then get my medications sorted out. It's starting to fall into place; at times, it startles me how easily it comes.
I don't think it's for everyone. But I met someone last week who knew of it, and it coincided with my therapist's suggesting that I give it a try again. It can be very cathartic.

Clear Skies glad you're doing well and will look into the technique. Phillipa
