I'm thinking of leaving my therapist or taking a break, and I feel like I need a consultation with someone reputable to help me decide. It would be easiest and least traumatic to get a consultation online--and I know there MUST be reputable therapists online--but I'm totally clueless about how to find one. Anyone have ideas?

You can search for a therapist on Psychology Today's website:

I think some of them might offer online consultations.
Good luck!

I looked around the site and got nervous that anyone I'd consult would tell me to leave so they could increase their own client base. I guess what I was hoping for was an all-knowing totally neutral nonprofit who'd tell me exactly what to do. Hey, why doesn't that exist? :)

Have you talked to your therapist about this? If not, it would be a good idea to talk to him/her first.
I did a consultation when I was uncertain about my therapist. I talked to a therapist who had done a group that I was in for a while. She was helpful in helping me to see what the issues were. She also strongly suggested that I try to talk to my therapist about the issues. (They knew each other, my therapist had recommended her group).
When I was ready to leave, I interviewed therapists and found that some of those appointments turned into "what should I do about my first therapist" sessions - particularly if it was clear from the beginning that this therapist I was interviewing wasn't going to be a match. I found those discussions helpful.
So, I think I would encourage you to find a real live therapist to discuss this with if you feel like you need an outside opinion.
But please do talk to your therapist first. Good luck!

Try talking to Kali Munro, she might be able to help or suggest where else you could go.

I have never tried therapy with her, but she has an online forum sort of like babble where she contributes from time to time, and I think I would trust her.
Btw, she and Dr Bob collaborate quite a lot too.

Thanks for the help! I might try Munro's site.
I've talked to my therapist endlessly (for two years, as a matter of fact). I just am losing hope that it will work out.

I had some email conversation with Kali Munro, and I'd highly recommend her if anyone needs a consultation. She's balanced and very empathetic.
...of course, I STILL don't know what to do...
