I just had my first triggering since before I reverse Humpty-Dumptied.
I survived it.
I didn't get all verbal like the old way, did I?
I think I stayed in a reasonable space, considering the flood of emotion.
It's different, now. I can't use that (mal?)adaptive strategy any more, the dissociation.
At least, I didn't, this time.
I had all that stuff in me, and I worked it out.

I appreciate the affirmation.

right on.
you kept your cool.
you kept yourself.you'll never be the same, because you can't go back. everytime you get triggered henceforth, you'll know what you're capable of. You'll have perspective. A new strategy, and the confidence that comes from knowing that it has worked in the past.

That's great to hear, Larry. Want to elaborate on what happened, how it went?
Repetition is the key,--each time you'll strengthen the pattern, and make it more possible.
But also key is not getting too disappointed if you fall off the path, knowing that disappointment is inevitable, but not the end, proof of failure etc. That you just have to take that one internal step to turn it around.

Hi Larry,
And it's the good kind of different. The positive kind!
Good for you! You survived and you will continue to survive.
If you ever change your posting name, I kind of like Reverse Humpty Dumpty. That would have had them talking at the APA conference. I got comments on Babbling Poet as my name. Hee. Hee.

A lot happened, and I don't know where to kick off my answer, from or to.
TIA,

I don't know, I thought your first post was about some specific situation in which you realized you were reacting differently.
Maybe you meant in general, you were observing this change.
Either way, it's super!
