Curt makes me laugh
and I have severe depression. He makes me not take myself too seriously
(I am ABD in taking myself too seriously)I never know what he's going to post next.
I don't know where the creativity comes from. It's such a gift. I really enjoyed the prefrontal crash test thread. And the my wife can't slice a tomato thread, in particular. Curt got me hooked on babble.Curt, if you can make ME laugh, I bet your jokes have induced fatal laughter in more "normal" people.
Even if you do like your OJ pulp-free (hiss)

You just love to manipulate people. Don't you?You are a pathetic Black Hole for attention and affection.

Curt, you are human
REPEAT, you are humanyou need attention
not because you're a loser, or because you want to manipulate people
you need attention because
YOU ARE A HUMANHumans have one of the most elaborate social structures of any animal species.
If humans don't get enough attention, we do desparate things. It's not because we are bad people. On the contrary, it's because we ARE HUMANs. Our genes and our brains don't work right unless we are surrounded by fellow humans who support us. Look around. a lonely human is a sad creature. no protection from the elements, no sharp claws or powerful jaws to kill protein sources, no big muscles to build things. ewe are slow, we are weak. Our advantage, as a species, is that we can put our ridiculously large brains together via elaborate communication systems (language? physical love?) and accomplish things that are greater than the sum of the parts.
If your environment denies you that essential communication with a real, live human(s) your brain will tell you that something is horribly, horribly wrong. It will cause your mood to change, and perhaps it will cause you to post untruths in the public domain. You post it in public because you need a response, because you're HUMAN. and you're a good human. you did exactly what you need to do to get a little support. even if it's only letters on a screen, it's a symbol for a lot of people, all over the world, who see the things you do, and read the things you write, and LIKE how you are. Flaws and all. Because you have a good heart, and a good mind, and because you share it with us. And if you need a little attention here and there, no problem. none at all.

I'm not sure where those words came from. I'm not sure why I have these feelings sometimes. I started writing and they spilled out. I felt it. they are real. Did I create them?

Curt,
I think that we all have words and feelings like that. It's pretty natural. But sometimes they become overwhelming. I don't think you created them, I think someone or some situation taught you to think that way. I don't know what happened to you in the past to teach you to think this way. I also don't know what immediate circumstance triggered their expression in this way. They spilled out, which is good, because keeping them supressed is probably not such a good thing. I think that therapy is a good place to start to figure out what triggers you to think this way, and maybe teach you healthy ways of unlearning these thought patterns, and also healthy ways of dealing with other kinds of overwhelming urges.-L
