Stressful morning - dentist appointment. Haven't been for years but could avoid it no longer. Climbing the walls with fear and anxiety but in the chair she said 'think of somewhere you'd rather be' I really managed to send myself to my T's office (the only place I truely feel safe most of the time) In my mind I checked that his books were straight, plants watered etc and then sat in my chair it worked

My therapist's old office was my safe place, still is. That office meant a lot to me.

Thats not wierd, it's wonderful! The therapy room is supposed to be safe, if not one of the safest places and you took yourself there at a time when you needed to feel that safety. I say good job. You used your resources, you kept your feelings rational and in check.

we all need our 'safe places' that are all our own.reading your post made me remenicent of my old T's room, he had a couple plants in there too.
