I like my relationship with my current T a lot !!!

Posted by pinkeye on July 7, 2005, at 20:37:15

I actually started out being quite cold to her, and she was being cold to me also. And she was extremely non revealing - she wouldn't even tell me her age, or if she is married, and she wouldn't even admit if she went away for a vacation or stayed in town. So I was pretty unattached to her all along.

And now I am terminating, with 3 more sessions to go, I am finding myself liking her a lot.. And I told her that today.. She was very happy. First time I have seen her accept a compliment with happiness.. She said I can come back to her anytime. And she had said she likes me too. It is very very uncomplicated, straightforward, and she understands me perfectly well. I haven't called her out of the office hours even once in the past 1 year.. (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing). When she goes on vacation I don't miss her. But I am glad when I have the sessions. And she is not going to write to me or give me her email id after I terminate, and I haven't googled her at all.. but I like her.

It is a dramatic change for me the extremely entangled relationship I had with my ex T. Maybe if he had been a woman, it would have been the same with him too.. all this transference messed it up with him.

Pinkeye,
why are you terminating with the current T? (Sorry if you already said and I missed it.) Do you feel ready to quit, or is it an insurance thing?

I'm glad you have a good relationship with her. It sounds healthy & therapeutic.

Thanks JenStar. I am moving to India next month. So that is why I am terminating.

oh, wow. I knew you were moving, but I didn't realize it was so soon. I hope you'll still be able to write and post here! Do you think you'll still be able to? I know it's probably selfish of me to think of ME during YOUR huge move, but go figure. :) I really like seeing you here and reading your posts.

Also, are you going to do similar work back in India? Does your company have an office there, or will you find something else?

I've always wanted to visit India. I love to read books about it. I know I can't do it anytime soon, but I hope to visit India sometime in the next 10 years!

I hope you have a nice weekend!

:-) I will be able to post and write here.. but I am not sure about the connection speed, privacy etc. Plus I will also be in a big time difference, so by the time I get to a post, maybe it will be too late. I like your posts too !!!

Yes, my company does have a branch, but unfortunately it is in a different city from where I am moving to. So I will have to find something else, but I will be working in a related field.

India could be a very different experience. You should probably see it once atleast. You may or may not like it, but I can guarantee it will be different from anything you have ever seen here. :-) And most likely, I will be back in a year or two in the States.
