With another great session. Dealt with my deportation from the UK, and also my horrendous interview for US citizenship. I was so afraid to address these events that held such an emotional charge, but EMDR is the lightning rod and has diffused the power these events had over me.

Wonderful!!!
I have a question for you: during my last EMDR session, it didn't feel the same. I felt disconnected from my target memory, and it just didn't have the same "charge." Maybe I chose the wrong target memory. Just wondering if that has ever happened to you.
I'm so glad this technique is providing so much relief for you!

Yes, the last EMDR before today's felt flat to me. I had a hard time really understanding what I was doing! I was all stirred up afterwards. Had a bad week, many headaches, panic attack, very down. And today was great. Some days our bodies and souls are more prepared for the journey. It's nice to know, however, that we aren't doing anything wrong. It's a Popeye thing - "it is what it is". In retrospect I think my previous EMDR helped to set the stage for being able to address the event or emotion again, with some time and distance between us.

I can't believe how much I have changed since EMDR.
I stared in the year 2000 and just last week decided to take a break.
I feel like Neo in the Matrix when he took the red pill....
I just am not in Kansas anymore.....
It seems like I have a chance for a new life with a new set of realities.
My beliefs are different and the first emotion I have is not fear....I now have a choice....I can feel lots of feelings.
So I feel like the poster child for EMDR too.

...but here is that day. The peace brings tears to my eyes. It's such a gift, so precious, so elusive until now.

I *love* your posts after each EMDR session. It's so encouraging and inspiring to hear how well they tend to go, and how much better you're feeling. Yay for partlycloudy and EMDR!
