Half of every week in the month of November starting next week, more at the holiday.
This may be a good time to try going down to once a week.

Well, at least you can test out how it feels for the month.

And we're back to the - what do these therapists think, planning vacations and/or business trips when they're supposed to be taking care of us?
What are your plans to deal with the lack of sessions?

Yeah. And so far it stinks. I pouted big time when I heard. I wish he wouldn't tell me at the end of a session.
I feel especially bad because the vacation part of it he deserves, and I don't want to be pouty about it. It's just that he's going to be gone so muuuuuuuch this month.
Ok, obviously the whining isn't over yet. :)

I know. The nerve!!!
Sigh. I have no real plans other than to hope for the best. I do have my first biofeedback session and my pdoc appt the first week, so I'm covered for that week. And keep telling myself that at least it's only half a week mainly. And muttering to myself about a backup therapist for "He Who Deserts His Clients".
(grin)

How frequently are you going to have biofeedback? I can't wait to hear how that goes, since it's something I've considered...

You two need to get together. You want to go once a week and he tells you to come twice. He wants to see you once a week, and you want to go twice.
Yeah, he's a rat.
We'll be here to help.
Setting up appointments with other caregiving professionals can help. One vacation I set up an appointment to see my financial analyst - she has a lot of information about me and what my life is like, she listens and cares, and helps me solve my (financial) problems. It was a great plan, but she had to cancel. Fortunately I was doing OK.

I go for my first meeting 11/3. Not sure whether or not I'll get my first biofeedback then or what, but at least I'll find out what's involved.
I'm kind of looking forward to it. I was great at muscle relaxation in Lamaze class, and I've always been good at pain blocking, so I see this as having some potential.
And my therapist thinks this psychologist will stick to pain management and stress issues, so he's ok with my seeing him.

since I have a dissociative disorder I actually do very well with this type of training- don't you dissociate a great deal also?
take care, judy

Dissociation is my favorite method of coping. :)
I'm guessing it really gives you an advantage in biofeedback? I know it helps me with pain control, although it takes a fair amount of energy. So I'm thinking that dissociation has to do with control over the brain's processes even as it feels like a lack of control. Hmmm...
Anyway, I was a bit worried that it might teach me to dissociate even better than I do. Did you find it encouraged your dissociative tendencies?

actually I did dissociate more in the beginning but as the biofeedback went on I gained more control- perhaps that's the same type of thing that will happen to you.
take care, judy
