I am looking to augment the prozac with something that enhances dopamine with as little possible effect on noradrenaline (NA), because I respond very bad to NA.
I have looked into L-Dopa, low dose Selegiline, and low dose Amisulpride.
It seems low dose Selegiline loses MAO-B selectivity over time and L-dopa also raises NA a bit too.
But what about amisulpride? Low dose enhances dopamine. Id really like to try this out, but want to confirm if it doesn't have much NA effect. Or is an agonist better? and if so, which agonist should i get.
Thanks for any insight and help!

Try Focalin
and really to tell you truth and it's raw, cocaine....because it's a dopamine reptake inhibitor. It causes excitement by dopamine increase by 30-45min.

A dopamine agonist or amineptine. Good luck finding aminetpine though. Amulsipride is supposed to boost dopamine without touching much else except the 5 HT7 receptor.

I"ve never done illegal drugs but if Pea is like cocaine who takes it seriously? As wouldn't it send some into manic states or severe anxiety? Phillipa

i've been wondering how cocaine works. in high school biology we were taught it was a dopamine re-uptake inhibitor, but i don't trust much of what i learned about drugs in high school.
i am wondering because i have tried cocaine on several occasions and it doesn't work for me (has little to no effect. not a case of poor quality drugs either) and i've never heard of this happening to anyone else. i was assuming it meant i was dopamine-deficient. was thinking it might help me figure out an AD that would work for me (haven't really found one that does much yet).
anyone have any ideas about this?

Cocaine is a triple reuptake inhibitor. Just because it makes people euphoric doesn't mean it acts soley on dopamine. MDMA is considered to be a more euphroric agent than cocaine and it increases serotonin more than dopamine.
Amulsipride is probably your best bet. Its a shame amineptine isn't still on the market.

thanks for the info.
maybe i should have mentioned that in the past i tried MDMA and found it highly effective, so that's another reason why i was thinking i probably had more of a dopamine deficiency than a serotonin deficiency...but i sort of suspect (wishful thinking, maybe) there are other neurotransmitters that haven't been discovered yet? i just don't think modern anti-depressants are as effective as they should be (for everyone, not just me).
anyway, i have a consult this week with a new psychopharmacologist, maybe i will ask him about amisulpride.

Not by me.

I respond well to NE, but I have a skin condition that responds very badly to it. From that I can tell what is working on NE or not.
Amisulpride I think might indirectly boost NE a tiny bit, since some dopamine is metabolized into NE. But from my own trials, I would say it is almost pure dopamine, with a slight sense of maybe some background opioid connection somewhere. It has also been recently discovered to be a 5ht7 antagonist, though they aren't sure whether that is part of its therapeutic effect or not.
Stimulating at first, then stimulating yet relaxing simultaneously, with interest in things and a brighter outlook on everything, more engaging, more talkative, yet relaxed...that's how I would describe what amisulpride does to me. I think it is a good antidepressant, anti-anhedonia, pro-social, anti-anxiety, all in one.
But the size of the dose is what matters. It takes a little experimenting. For me, 25mg fell just a wee bit short, while 50mg was a bit overkill. So with 200mg tabs I powdered them and made custom 33mg doses. With too high of a dose you'll feel some dopamine antagonism beginning to happen. Not a bad thing, just maybe someone wants it or doesn't want it.
I would personally steer clear of the dopamine agonists. They seem to be good for restless legs syndrome in tiny doses, but rather problematic for everything else. That's just based on everything I have read. The few times I tried them I thought they felt depressing and aweful.
Abilify in a very low dose 1mg - 5mg might be a contender for you. It seems to go well with ssris but not that many good reports mixed with anything else or monotherapy.

'losing selectivity' just means you need to take a bit less selegiline to maintain
